When an artist can pull off something that is fresh and new in a good way… that’s when you have the possibility of gaining this Hata’s respect. Today… Cee-Lo Green gets a free pass with his infectious “Fuck You” song!

Cee-Lo has been around for a minute, and every now and then he comes out with something that really makes you rethink music. His latest milestone includes the “Fuck You” song which is the lead single off his upcoming album “The Lady Killer”. If you’ve heard this song on the radio… LET ME STATE FOR THE RECORD that the clean version is doing you a serious disservice. The words of “Forget You” just don’t resonate with your soul nor do they have the same impact as the words “Fuck You”!

While the songs title “Fuck You” may catch a lot of people off guard, you can’t help but to dig the music. Listeners can relate to Cee-Lo’s message because just about everyone’s experienced having their feelings crushed by someone they’ve loved or seriously liked. Moments like those almost always call for a “Fuck You, and a Fuck Him/Her too”.

The power of the written word can sometimes be even more effective than those that are spoken. In this case Cee-Lo uses them both in a way that makes you really follow the bouncing ball.

BUT wait it gets better… Cee-Lo’s taken this song one step further and made a second music video for all of you who folks who can’t sing and read at the same time. This version will give you a visual storyline that’s still so very fitting for his message. Even down to the way he cries “why”.

I take pride in spitting a hot “Fuck You” when I don’t have time to flip the bird. People everywhere are going to be humming this tune before, during, or after they tell someone…”Fuck Yoooou” (in my singing voice). This song helps to ease the pain of a serious heartbreak just a little or a lot depending on how much emphasis you put into it. Me… I’ve got the lungs of a stallion, and I will put you on blast with or without the help of a catchy little jingle, so just beware.

So here I am reluctantly spending my time and energy on one of the industries most egocentric characters… and you know exactly who I’m talking about…. Mr. Kanye West himself.

Kanye’s fifth album “Dark Twisted Fantasy” drops in November, and his current single “Power” reminds me of background music. The song is more like an extended interlude because it’s less than two minutes long. By the time you start feeling the beat and try to catch the lyrics the song is over. To make matters worse he really isn’t saying much of anything. With a song title like “Power” coming from a guy like West I should be able to listen and walk away feeling either empowered, highly insulted, slightly amused or very enlightened… BUT NO! It doesn’t even make me want to raise my hands and cover my lips to belt out a base ridden OOH.

Now the music video on the other hand… that made me turn my head and put on a “Who The Fuck Does He Think He Is” face. Once again and for the record I’m going to state that, “I seriously believe that dude has a questionable GOD complex”. I guess I’m supposed to be impressed by all the special effects during his stroke of ego… NOT. The director Marco Brambilla describes this video as being “apocalyptic in a very personal way”. What the fuck does that mean? Who thinks about themselves in this manner? Outside of Kanye West that is.

Apocalyptic maybe, but it reminds me of a new twist from a scene in the “Ghostbusters II” when the painting comes to life. You’re sickly drawn into this video as if in a trance while you watch the images make subtle movements as they transition. On top of that you’ve got a Vigo version of Kanye surrounded by an angel, horned demons/devils, fighting scenes, and just some other abstract supernatural shit going on. He went from “Jesus Walks” to this… Hmmmm.

As for the remix “Power” features lyrics by Jay-Z and echos by Swizz Beatz (in addition to production credit). This version is longer than the original at a whopping five plus minutes. At least here you get a little more song play. Although I’m still not sold on Kanye having the “Power”. It’s like listening to He-Man rap… “By the Power of Grayskull”… LOL.

Depending on which side of the fence you sit on Kanye’s been labeled as “crazy” and as a “genius”. Some debate that it’s a thin line between the two but I say, “Um NO”. I think it’s all a very well thought out plan to continue to grow his buzz outside of the music. YES, it is without a shadow of a doubt that Kanye’s intelligent and openly lets his emotions get the best of him, but he’s on his grind, playing his game, his way, no matter what. No retreat, no surrender. Even if that means he’s snatching moments of glory from someone like Taylor Swift to speak his mind (and effortlessly sky rocketing her career to a level far beyond her talent scope). Or that he’s on camera telling the entire world on live television that George Bush hates black people.

When it comes to Kanye you never know what to expect. Controversy sells and he’s good at dishing out more than 31 flavors. So in a way that sort of gives him a little “power”, but only if people are paying attention. However that shouldn’t equate his ego to being anything that’s remotely GOD like. Sorry Hip-Hop Vigo, I mean Kanye West… I’m not falling for it. Sooner or later people are going to get tired of the bullshit and the games. It never turns out very well for attention seeking celebrities. It’s just an E! True Hollywood story waiting to happen… LMAO.

American Idol has been in judge turmoil ever since Paula Abdul decided to quit. The show is also faced with now having to fill the seats of outgoing ‘American Idol’ judges Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres (Paula’s replacement)… tisk tisk.

While Ellen wasn’t exactly Paula… she did bring a new energy to the show despite the fact that she never really fit in. American Idol will barely even miss her and it’s not like her decision to call it quits will hurt her career. In fact, she might even get back a few thousand followers that abandoned her after she joined the cast. Because let’s face it, it’s not like Ellen needed a part-time job, AND we all know that she really wasn’t emotionally equipped to handle stomping on the hopes and dreams of people that admire her.

Everybody hated Simon Cowell in the beginning because he was so brutally honest – but that’s what made/makes him great! Why sugar coat the bullshit? If you’re a horrible singer and have absolutely no talent then someone should tell you. This way you can shelf that dream and move on. No use in wasting time on something that only sounds good in the shower.

FOX has been trying to court new judge hopefuls like Jenny from the Block, but I seriously doubt that Jennifer Lopez has what it takes to kill the dreams of thousands without losing her own fan base. She’s way to sweet on camera to keep the **TUNES J-LO MUSIC** “I’m Real” facade going. But then again she does need a job since her last album, I mean released singles were a complete failure.

If I had the power to create a hybrid judge comprised of Ricky Gervais (Mark Bellison, Invention of Lying) and Jeremy Piven (Ari Gold, Entourage)… then maybe, just maybe I would be intrigued to watch again… but that’s never gonna happen.

Should the show go off air — I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE — WannaBe Dick Clark, I mean Ryan Seacrest will still be employed because he’s an undercover Jamaican and honorary Hedley with 15 jobs. Randy Jackson can go back to being a producer and whatever the hell else he’s been doing on the side since A.I. gave his career a boost. And Kara DioGuardi the NOW OFFICIALLY FIRED tag-a-long judge can go back to her industry job that only people in the industry know about.

It’s time for the FOX network to give it up already. There will always be talented hopefuls out there desperately seeking to be put on, but I am really tired of watching this competition… NEXT!

Ya know… The ratio of man to woman on this earth is plentiful. I never understood how heauxs like yourselves, made it your business to wind up in the middle of someone’s marital affairs. You are all single women, attractive women… How hard is it for you to find a man that doesn’t already belong to someone else? I understand that people meet and whatever but, if he is a husband, he should be off limits, PERIOD. Julia Roberts aka “America’s Sweetheart” has to be the quietest home wrecker of all. She was with a single man, a fine man too (Benjamin Bratt). She left him for a married man named Danny Moder and even paid off his wife for a quickie divorce so they could be married by the 4th of July… Julia had a nice single man. They may not have had the best relationship but, you sunk your claws in the back of a married man? With children? Really??

And you Alicia… You were having an affair with the man of a woman whom you knew. Maybe not friends but you guys were definitely acquaintances. Whether or not their marriage was on the rocks or not, that is a situation that you should have steered clear of. The presence of another woman is a distracter. Men have the attention spans of 2 year olds. I have watched men watch other women while with their wives. Everyone is human. Shit if I see a fine man walking down the street, I will be watching. It’s natural. If they are in a situation that needs working on, 9 times out of 10 he will take the easy way out with the next bitch if she’s accessible. She asked you to back off. Look… As a woman, I have hella respect for myself. There is no way in hell am I going to allow myself to be a man’s option. Wyclef for President? Does that even sound right? Even I have to question the validity of this power move! When did Wyclef Jean become qualified enough to run for President of Haiti?

I wonder if this means he’ll be “Gone Till November”…LMAO because I can literally hear the sound of his own personal theme music playing in the background during the 2010 Haitian presidential election; which is actually on November 28, 2010.

But in all seriousness Haiti was absolutely devastated after it was hit by a 7.0 earthquake in January of 2010. As word of this catastrophe began to spread, people everywhere in and out of the music industry immediately began to flock to Wyclef Jean’s non-profit organization Yéle Haiti. The public wanted to hear from him and help his country in any way they could. Wyclef had finally gained the attention of the world, and his humanitarian efforts became just as instrumental as the Red Cross, United Way, Doctors Without Borders, etc.

However, I’m not really sure if that’s enough of a prerequisite for Wyclef to step up his game and run for President. Does he really think that he has what it takes to restructure, build, and grow a politically unstable country just like that?

I don’t know what the hell he’s smoking, but that must be some really good shit!!!

Obama gave black men everywhere hope… the idea that they can do and be anything… but we can’t compare apples to sugar cane. Why? Because they’re just not the same fucking thing that’s why. How does being a native of the island, a multi-platinum Grammy-winning artist, a Haitian goodwill ambassador, and a great humanitarian qualify a person to run a country? It’s not like owning a music label or being the head of a charity.

We’re talking a job description that includes reorganizing governmental infrastructure, managing billions of international reconstruction dollars, feuding officials, dealing with an estimated 1.6 million homeless families as a result of the earthquake, poverty, health care, education, unemployment, etc. These are just some of the many issues that the next President will have to resolve and manage with the world watching and waiting.

Now I’m not saying that Wyclef can’t strive to be more that what he is. We already know that he’s overcome the odds and continues to give back to his country… BUT is this is NOT the type of job that you’re suppose to learn as you go!

Choosing the next President for a devastated Haiti is very important and detrimental to the countries future. It’s a dirty job and someone has to do it, but if Wyclef Jean qualifies as the creme of the crop… LAWD HAVE MERCY!

I’m gonna grab me some popcorn and see how this all plays out. Especially since he’ll also be running against his uncle Raymond Joseph, who’s Haiti’s ambassador in Washington.

WOW… “You got married?” I find myself asking that question a lot. Sad to say, after the dust cleared, some of those people weren’t married anymore. How can people survive that “First Year”?

A lot of people say that the first year of marriage is the most difficult. The changes, adjustments, transitions… The settling is most unnerving for some.

Perhaps it takes a little more patience and understanding. Walks and quality time spent. Focus and communication. Compromise and sharing. Faith and hope. Respect and trust.

That first year is the start of sharing the rest of your life with someone. It’s about abandoning the “I” and adapting the “we”, but still preserving self-time for sanity. It’s about learning your spouse and the role that you play in his/her life. It’s about learning how to support your spouse and all of his/her endeavors. These things are not hard to do, especially when you’re married to someone you love, respect and trust.

I went to many weddings and shared a lot of great wedding news… Many of those people didn’t make it out the first year gate. Perhaps marriage for some, isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. Most of the time one of the parties involved isn’t ready. That in itself is a whole other problem. If that’s the case then the things I mentioned above are not even a consideration.

Your one year anniversary is a special one. It marks a lot of first accomplishments as a couple. It should be celebrated and remembered and used as a model for the years to come, for both the good and bad.

Marriage isn’t just something to do. It’s a lifelong commitment. If honoring your commitment is not something on your agenda then don’t waste a person’s time. Many of you know yourselves and know what you are capable/incapable of doing. Being able to come to terms with that alone will save a lot of people that first year break-up anguish. Chances are, you should’ve just stayed single to begin with.

Rick Ross aka Teflon Don has decided to join the ranks of the plastic click by forever immortalizing himself as bald bearded plastic paper weight. I can’t really call him an “action figure” if he’s only visible from the waste up. But it’s clearly obvious that dude does enjoy being able to play with himself.

I’m just glad that his fat ass has on a shirt and that his figurine isn’t life size. I couldn’t image how big that shit would be considering the fact that the real Rick Ross is six-foot-two and weighs a whopping 300 pounds.

Details are still not clear if the Don is in mass production or just sitting pretty within his personal figurine collection, but maybe he’ll grow a pair… of legs that is…LMAO

So… It’s my birthday and I should be eating cake and drinking some kind of alcoholic beverage. Instead, I am sitting at the computer about to go in on another trifling ass situation.

If I remember correctly, a few months ago I was scratching my head and questioning the nuptials of Christina Milian and The-Dream as it unfolded. Let’s think about this… Christina is a beautiful girl. She dated some duds, and a few people before The-Dream proposed to her… Nick Cannon, Dre (of Cool & Dre), etc. etc. etc. Nick married Mariah, and Christina ended up marrying The-Dream?? Really? Teddy Ruxpin resembling, Hamburglar stunt-doubling, Gummy Bear look-alike Dream…. Now. You can’t really judge how much people love/don’t love each other but these two as a couple just looked odd. First came the baby. Then came the proposal. Then the big show and tell wedding. But hey, you love who you love and if marriage is something they want to do, then go ahead.

As I heard the story of how he cheated on her with the ugly assistant, I had to laugh. Is he serious?? Have they even been married a year yet? How do you cheat with a woman who is friends with your wife? What kind of whore, slut bucket skank is she?

I honestly don’t understand why people get married anymore. Does anybody know what a “MARRIAGE” is or supposed to be? More and more, stories of cheating and heauxshit fuckery are surfacing between married couples. Not only celebrity couples but regular, Average Joe couples, who have kids, dogs, 9-5’s…, so what the hell is the problem? You know what; I used to blame the men. But I don’t anymore. I blame the trifling ass women that walk this earth and feel it is their duty to still date men that are married. I mean, it takes two to tango but as a woman, if you KNOW a man is married, why date him? Are you so fucked up that you can’t handle commitment so you jump in the middle of someone else’s? Or is your self-esteem on LOW and a relationship with a married man is what gets you through the day? I know plenty of men who are married but feel it is their civic duty to still pursue women. But women, there are obvious warnings that a man is married. Why don’t you heed the warning? What makes you think you are going to be “The One”? And if he’s doing his wife like that, what makes you think he’s going to do you any different? There are some that actually honor their commitment and respect their wife and I applaud them. I really do. And I can only hope that more men own up to their commitment and be husbands.

Too many women feel like they have an obligation to service every man that crosses their path. The “he wants me and that’s all that matters” attitude is sickening. And people who defend heauxs need to shut the hell up too. If 2 people are married, there is no room for anybody else. Period. If you want to be with someone else, please go. Don’t stay behind. I’m sure if the attention of other women is your focus, you can’t do much else for your wife.

“You don’t know the situation… There are 2 sides to every story”. Fuck a “situation”… When the married parties involved figure it out, and DIVORCE, then moves can be made. But until then, please, women… Have some self-respect and stop being a man’s option. Be the one.

On another note The-Dream and Christina Milian have officially announced their separation after the shocking release of his adulterating pictures surfaced. I guess Christina will be taking care for their 5 month old daughter Violet, while he’s out fucking more skanks.

OK, so maybe it’s just me, but there seems to be a real serious communication barrier when it comes to having a conversation with many of today’s unknown rappers.

Now I’m not proclaiming to have a nerds command of the English vocabulary. However, I am very capable of carrying on a conversation without the tag lines of “you know what I’m sayin”, “yah feel me”, “nah mean”, “yah heard”, “you sizzlin”, etc., etc., etc. When I hear an artist that speaks like this I can’t help but to ask myself if this is how he/she speaks on a daily basis? Part of me just wants to laugh, but the other part of me just wants to smack some duct tape across their mouths and make them shut the fuck up!

Now I’m not saying that you have to be all proper when you speak, BUT “some sort of etiquette” would greatly be appreciated. I shouldn’t have to listen extra hard to the words that are coming out of your mouth because I can’t understand what the fuck you are trying to say. You see, it’s at this point in the conversation when I begin to feel really really bad because it’s totally obvious that the public school system has failed you. There’s absolutely no reason for you to have a constant repetition of tag lines at the end of each sentence? Um… no I don’t understand you, and no I’m definitely not feeling you. Actually you just sound really really stupid!

You as the vocationally challenged rapper want to be taken seriously for your art. You want reporters to interview you, and you want to be portrayed in a positive light. Um… that’s only gonna happen if the people you’re talking to can understand what you’re trying to say. Each sentence that falls out of your mouth shouldn’t have a tag line attached to it… “yah feel me”.

So if you’re listening to me Mr./Mrs. Vocationally Challenged Rapper… every time you open up your mouth I’m embarrassed for you, and I’m completely disgusted by your speech patterns. Music isn’t everything. There comes a point after the release of your mixtape/album that you actually have to speak with people in order to further your career. Either you step up your game and get it together OR be prepared to go no where fast!!

Just don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Today I decided to push it out of the box and listen something other than hip-Hop. Not that I need disclaimer to post anything that I want to see/hear, but there are other genres of music out there your know. Today’s Video Throwback is in salute to all my house heads!!! A little Crystal Waters goes a very long way and “100% Pure Love” can still get the dance floor rocking… if it’s a real house party that is.
