It appears as though it’s virtually impossible for movie goers to watch anything original these days. In August of 2012 Colin Farrell will star as the new Doug Quaid/Houser in a remake of the 1990’s sci-fi action classic “Total Recall”.

That’s right… not even the infamous “Total Recall” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger is immune from the fast growing trend of becoming a remake. What’s worse is that the movie isn’t even that old… 12 years wasn’t that long ago!

The only good news that I can give the film’s original followers is that the premise will remain the same. Doug Quaid/Houser (Farrell) is still a factory worker who begins to suspect that he's a spy, though he is unaware which side of the fight he's on.

I’m sure that the remake won’t be too bad because Farrell has way more charisma on screen than Schwarzenegger ever did, and let’s not forget that the world of special effects has become pretty damn amazing since this movies initial release.

The trailer looks alone looks a million times better than the original version, and it also stars Underworld's very own action heroine, Kate Beckinsale. And you already know that if she's in this film... someone is definitely getting their ass kicked!

I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if this “Total Recall” will spawn a new generation of fans, and if it has the power to reconnect with the film’s original followers. ~Dana Da Designated Hata® aka Nobody’s Fan®
