When Pastor Joseph Brown (Keith David) unexpectedly falls terminally ill, Jessica "Jesse" Brown (Salli Richardson-Whitfield) returns home to Atlanta during his time of need. He asks his sinner strippin’ daughter to honor his dying wish and lead his flock at Mount Olive Baptist Church…..gasp, the nerve right…LOL. Well needless to say the congregation wasn’t in total support of the Pastors final decree and this decision begins to divide the loyalties of the churches leadership. Even Jesse’s jealous older sister, Tonya Brown (Nicole Ari Parker) can’t believe that her father didn’t choose her or the overly ambitious Associate Pastor, Avery Callagan (Michael Beach). And although the leaders of the church have asked Jesse to respectfully decline the position, she shocks them all by accepting the responsibility that her father bestowed upon her. However, she must prove to the Mount Olive congregation that she is worthy of leading them and gain their support. This journey leads Jesse on a path to face her demons, earn forgiveness, find self-love, regain her dignity, and accept responsibility for her actions.

For all you folks on the Tyler Perry Express…this is a film for you. It’s not like Madea so don’t go out to the theater thinking that’s what you’re gonna get. I think it’s the perfect balance of Tyler Perry’s story telling abilities combined with the word delivered by Bishop T.D. Jakes. While the storyline does center around the church, I found this film to be uplifting without making me feel overly religious. I actually didn’t realize that I had been sitting in the pool pit at Mount Olive until about the last 10 minutes of the movie. But by that time I was more than ready to hear Jesse preach, preach, preach!!… and let me tell you she was awesome!!! I thought “Pastor Brown” was entertaining, funny, uplifting, and real. I highly recommend going out to see this movie in the theater. It’s totally worth the full price of admission and adding to your DVD collection. ~Dana Da Designated Hata®, Nobody’s Fan™

Everyone that saw this preview was like, Oh, didn't this movie come out already and wasn't it called Running Man, or Death Race?...LOL. Well, they're sort of right but not exactly. The premise for "Gamer" basically exploits the whole Internet based social networking phenomena to the next level. What if real people actually did play a living breathing human being for the sake of recreational purposes? What if people so desperate to earn a dollar found employment as a character in this real world game where an individual's personal control and functionality were operated by someone playing the game?

Well, Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall), happens to be the ingenious developer behind this mind-controlling technology and has racked in billions for his invention. However, when he introduces a killing video game called Slayers into the mix; this changes the dynamics of everything. Slayers uses convicted criminals as its sacrificial players in this deadly and ruthless game. Each week inmates compete in an arsenal gladiator environment to kill or be killed in an attempt to regain their freedom. If a player can go 30 rounds without being killed he or she will win back their freedom. Kable (Gerard Butler) is the first man to ever make it past 10 rounds. He's controlled by Simon (Logan Lerman), a 17 year-old gamer with celebrity status that continues to defy all the odds by guiding Kable to victory every week. However, nothing is ever as simple as it seems and when Kable actually breaks free of the game, all hell breaks loose.

For all you action junkies that need to see bullets, blood, and body parts all over this place, then "Gamer" is for you. I thought this movie was cool, and way better than "Death Race". So if you're in need of some bang-bang shoot up in your life and crave an action fix, then this will do the trick for now. It's certainly worth of the cost of a good matinee, decent date, or a justified rental when it's released to the public. ~Dana Da Designated Hata®, Nobody’s Fan™

Transformers are back and in full effect, but this time around the Autobots have teamed up with their old adversary-turned-ally NEST in an attempt to seek out and destroy all of the remaining Decepticons on Earth. This installment of Transformers reveals the secrets about both human and Cybertronian history amid the spectacular clashes of robot vs. robot. Meanwhile at the same time our beloved Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) tries to maintain the status of a normal person, but he quickly finds out that life will never be the same. However, when the Decepticons ancient leader named THE FALLEN discovers that Sam is in possession of some crucial information about their history on our planet, and the true battle to save the Earth begins again.

All I can say is that if you liked Part 1, then you'll like Part 2. I can't really determine which one is better because this film maintains the same integrity of its predecessor and this childhood classic. The CGI was absolutely flawless, the action scenes were dope and should really be seen on a big screen, the comedy was on point, and the storyline made complete sense. "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is worth the full price of admission and you'll want to add this one to your personal collection…it won’t disappoint. ~Dana Da Designated Hata®, Nobody's Fan®
